Find a Branch in the North-East Region

The branches of the Guild throughout the north-east welcome anyone with an interest in embroidery and stitched textiles. To find out more about a branch near you, click here to go to our location map. Those branches with a website, blog and/or facebook page will show further information and details of their work.

This link will take you to Embroiderers' Guild website where you can select any of the individual branches in our region.

Our branches actively encourage all levels of stitching ability from absolute beginners to full-time practising artists, as well as those somewhere in-between who simply enjoy stitching or learning techniques. Potential members of the Guild are encouraged to try a session before joining.

You may want to visit a branch with a view to finding out more before joining the Guild. While Covid-19 restritions are in place, most branches have put face-to-face meetings on hold. Please contact the indiviudal branch you are interested in to find out how they are keeping in touch with each ther. Or contact Embroiderers' Guild UK with this link to find out more about visiting a branch.

Membership of the Embroiderers' Guild requires an annual subscription.  Adult Membership is from the age of 24; the fee is currently £38 (full-time students and those aged 18-24 pay a reduced rate). In addition to the National subscription, branches have an annual membership fee which enables them to provide their own events. Benefits of branch membership include early bird offers for all regional events as well as the local branch monthly meetings, speakers, textile related workshops, stitching days, local competitions, exhibitions and other social activities. Some branches may have an entrance fee for monthly meetings, please check before attending.

For Junior Embroiderers’ aged 5-18, Durham City, is currently the only branch that has a Young Embroiderers’ Group, please click here to see the Young Embroiderers' section of the Durham City website.

Individual members of the Guild (those not affiliated to a particular branch) may not hear about local events and competitions. If you would like to be included on an e-mailing list, please contact secretary.nerembguild@gmail.com with your full name and Guild membership number.
